Yes a lot of people add genders that have no scientific evidence and no logical points to back up their existence.
(I know you didn't ask but) I originally thought I was one of these made up identities but once I figured out I was a cisgender female I did some research on transmedicalism so I can help others with their gender Identity.
I hope this helps with your question.
I feel like these identities could be harmful and honestly get someone no where, tbh. You are either male, female, or neither? And to stick a label on yourself or search for one and websites like these encourage it so strongly is just... not good for young kids with this mentality that if they are 100% female or 100% female they're some made up gender. I'm a transmedicalist myself and I just want to help people feel comfortable because I'm a trans guy, but not "100% male" because I like feminine things or something and I find most of the time, people think in order to be cis/trans you need to be 100% that gender which is just not scientifically correct or healthy and encourages social constructed gender expression aka man only wears suits and women only wear dresses. its transphobic and honestly making trans people look like a joke
Hello philophobe sorry for the late reply I was studying more on transmedicalism.
I wanted to start out by saying yes these made up genders people identify as won't do people any good in the long run because the majority of these non binary identities are confusing to other people because you have to admit they're all a bit weird, I mean how exactly does someone identify as a different species or identify their gender with a mental illness? One is absolutely impossible to identify with because you can't actually transition into an animal you can only get body modification surgeries and costume items to align yourself with the species you want to identify as, you can't just magically turn into an animal that your "gender" is aligned with! The other one is offensive and stigmatised because people who are trans-bashers believe that transgenderism is caused by a for of neurodivergence when there is absolutely no proof that neurodivergence is linked to gender dysphoria or being transgender It's also really offensive to people who actually have a disability or disorder. a good example is me, I have attention deficit disorder, for me that means I have a short attention span (especially with schoolwork), I forget about important dates for activities and meetings, I can get frustrated easily with peers and teachers, I fidget so I can pay attention and I have bad mood swings. Does my gender have anything to do with ADD? No it does not, I know I'm a female because I don't have gender dysphoria and because I'm comfortable in my body and just because I have ADD doesn't mean I'm going to identify with a neurogender, that's just stupid.
When you said you worry about kids this site who are confused about their gender identities I wanted to let you know that I feel the same, I too worry about younger kids searching on the internet for help with gender identity because it's a very vicious cycle. Basically younger kids (around 10-14) are confused about their gender so they think the internet will help them when in reality all it does is take them to websites like this and once they get into websites like these they start exploring and find genders that they think sound like them when the truth of the matter is they aren't scientifically proven they were just conjured up by someone who thought it would be cool to make up a gender, then once they figure out this gender they'll tell all their friends and their parents that they are that made up gender and ask them to use a gender neutral name and ask their family members and friends to use either they/them pronouns or some made up pronoun like xie/xir ey/em or zhie/zhir or ey/co and the person's friends and family try to get the person's pronouns right but whenever they mess up the person complains even when they know it takes a while to adjust to somebody's preferred name and pronouns and if the getting annoyed about your family and friends getting the person's pronouns wrong goes on for too long they end up losing their friends and their parents just don't know what to do but to give up. that's why I suggest that people go to renowned gender clinics and licensed therapists who specialise in gender identity in their areas so they can get beneficial help rather than unorthodox methods to help kids with gender identity.
If a random person or that person grows up and hang on to that gender identity and because they want to make the world more "aware" of their "oppressed identity" and because of that they want to become a non binary SJW or activist though it gets way worse for them and everyone else because (not all but some) aggressively flaunt their gender identity in peoples faces whether it be on an online platform or in public stating if you misgender them or use the wrong pronouns its considered transphobic and they call people cis scums just for making a simple mistake. If people debate with them and they take an approach where they use logic and scientific facts they get defensive due to not having any scientific evidence or proof to back themselves up so they end up getting annoyed and defensive either by calling you names like truscum or transphobic or they physically attack you because they know they can't win in those situations.
Sorry to ramble on about the kids and SJWs but yes there is only male and female, transgender means your transitioning to one sex to the other and intersex is where someone is born with multiple chromosomes due to (as scientists quote) defect When they were conceived. However there is a scientific theory that somebody can be non binary because their brain may function in the middle of male and female, but they have to have gender dysphoria in order to be non binary.
Finally I wanted to let you know that just because a Transgender guy/man likes "feminine things" doesn't make them less valid as a man, many men (even though they may not admit it) like things that would be considered feminine, Don't change yourself to be something your not and don't change for anyone because you are perfect just the way you are.
Some people feel like this. and thats okay! gender is just a feeling, and sometimes the labels at hand dont fit that feeling ! so we have to make more
What do you think?
